This card’s traditional meaning is emotional control, balance between heart and head. As a person gets older, maturity help with this balance. We may begin as youngsters, excited to feel passionate about something, with an uncontainable fire. As we age, we learn from society that some things must be controlled. We may shut down a little from the ridicule from our peers or elders. As we age, hopefully we find the balance to have passion again, yet with control. Could this be what the King of Cups represent? He is the most mature minor arcana card of emotions.
